I did vote yes, thinking about all the people that have been harmed or killed by unattended dogs.
I did vote yes. Dogs should not, like children, be left unattended. It's called being irresponsible.

Yeah - the laws should be changed to allow small dogs into shops/cafes/public transport, ESPECIALLY if in a handbag/carry bag. This is normal in France (big dogs have to be muzzled). Why should you not be able to take your dog with you? Total big brother. Just like the pet microchipping laws. What will you say when they ask you to microchip your kids??? For their safety of course!
Are you serious? How bout a fine for prams on footpaths, boats in parking spots, kids making noise in parks.... Whats wrong with leaving your dog for a couple of minutes while you duck into a shop? Sure if it left for an extended period of time its not on, but really?.... my dog lays peacefully on the floor in my house or yard for for hours at a time and she's not bothered... All the people harmed???.... what a beat up.

That got em..How do you fine a dog????? and really parking rangers dont have the authority do they ...how does one put a chalk mark on a dog! Doesn't it make sense that if a dog or child is left unattended for a rather lengthy period...thats a matter for the police...nor parking "rangers"
omg this is just dumb, if a dog is savage the owner isn't going to leave it outside a shop anyway, if there is a root sticking out of the ground,or a limb of a tree obstructing a footpath can i fine the tree for it being in an annoying spot?

microchipping, not leaving your dog unnatended, its called being a RESPONSIBLE dog owner. Look up anthropomorphism. Those of you who dont want to do these things, thats what you are. If your not going to be responsible for your dog, dont get one. Sure your dog may be fine to leave outside, but clearly not all are. Would you like your niece being malled going to pat the cute jack russel while the owner was "only in the shop for a second, i swear!" Yes retards, jack russels might not be big compared to you, but to a little kid they are. And what about the dog thats fine till you put a man with a walking stick near it. But you dont want this law, those people being mauled arent important enough, its senseless to protect them all so your little darling can conveniently sit there while your doing your shopping. Also, look at it from the other perspective. Your dog might not bite anyone, even if its taunted for hours. But alot of people dont like dogs, your going to leave your dog unsupervised, while its open to a druggo coming up and kicking it, belting it..whatever they want really. But of course, your only in there for a few minutes, she'll be right..right? Your a very responsible pet owner. Congratulations. :)

Dear Vet Student - perhaps you would be so kind as to not call people 'retards' while trying to convince them that your opinion is the correct one. I don't think belittling those with mental health issues will score you many points.Secondly, do you have any examples of the incidents you describe? Maybe a newspaper article or even better, a case, where the above has happened so that we can read it and see where you are coming from. Thirdly, whoever wrote the poll question needs to rewrite it. No one can issue a ticket to a dog as has been pointed out, and in what circumstances are we talking about? Are you talking about leaving them at home in the yard while you are at work? Are you talking about some unique circumstance that isn't already covered by the Companion Animals Act? And lastly - if you leant a word in vet school at least learn to use it properly. Saying someone is an anthropomorphism simply sounds wrong. Try saying that they are anthropomorphic.
Who put this poll together?. Surely you mean Should parking rangers be allowed to fine THE OWNERS OF dogs for being left unattended?
This website used to be a good tool, now it is overrun by tools ! All you read now is everyone haveing a go at each other. It is no longer useful. I sure the website owner wont like these comments but I think you might need to try harder getting the negative people to stop commenting. What Council is going to take notice of a website that is now just a slanging match. They must laugh at most of this stuff.
