Tip on private property in Marrickville LGA
Property at 14 Brereton Avenue, Marrickville NSW 2204 allowed to look like a tip. 2 x unroadworth trailers on council-managed road. Has attracted theft, fire and disgusted looks from bypassers. People from neighbouring suburbs often pass to catch a glimpse of this legendary eyesore.
Council knows about it but doesnt give a damn.

Yeah! What's happening with this? I though he was given 28 days to clean up his mess! Doesnt look like he's touched it! Come on Marrickville Council! Surely you can do better! All the nature strip mowing and tree planting cant mask the mess visible on this property!
Ive got the same problem. We've informed council about a hoarder who lives near us. It's on a main road. Surely someone must have seen something! Poor form Marrickville Council. Poor form indeed.
I think that CouncilGripe is losing it's effectiveness. It's old news, doesnt reach far, and I think in general people just dont give a damn.
Hi Anonymous, I agree. I haven't had a chance to make any changes to this site for going on three years let alone promote or actively approach the council with many of the gripes.
I do aim to redevelop and launch the site as soon as I have saved up a sufficient amount to make it worth while as I feel communication between councils and their residents is still not effective due to a lack in transparency and this is something CouncilGripe can help rectify.

Hi Chris, I am only new to this site (today!) and I saw your comment while searching and thought that if the Council could advise people of this website maybe it could benefit them by knowing what's going on in their council area. Surely their intention is to better the environment. When I spoke to Council today with my complaint they just gave me a reference number and nothing else. Nothing worse when your fuming and want to get it off your chest and are just given a number so I hope this website gives me some support in trying to better our Council and my issue. Thanks Chris and good job!
Good on you Chris. I was really excited when this site was launched. I was like "UK, here we come!" cause they are doing lots of great things with like Fixmystreet. This site is still the only one out there in Aust so it would be a shame for it to vanish.
One thing Im certain about, Council's are hearing what's being said on this site. They still dont do much about the issues griped about, but Im sure they are reading.

I don't think Waverley Council is watching or they'd update! The quote on the home page is from the previous mayor, Sally Betts. She was replaced by John Wakefield some time ago.
