Taree Mayor Elected on Platform of Fixing Potholes

When a complaint was lodge about 6 pot-holes out side of the waste disposal depot, the council tar truck came and filled in the pot-holes forthwith, but, to get to the job-site, the truck had to drive over the 4 klms of roadway to get to it,

4 klms of pot-hole hell, so many pot-holes just driven over, ignored, just to fix the complaint, nothing else.

I don't know whether to laugh or cry, this Council or the Engineer really needs a boot up the proverbial, since I worked for a well-known country council, I know for a fact that this is how the council operates, it beggars belief that the crew has to come back out again to do exactly what they could have done in the first place.

And now the council has been granted a 3.5% increase in rates, I surely hope they will not squander the extra monies flowing in.

After 4 weeks of no rain the Council has finally tarred the holes at Old Bar, I am glad the mayor won on his platform of fixing the roads, imagine how long it would take if someone else won the election.

Mind you ppl, Old Bar is just 19 klms away, I bet many Council workers travelled over this road every day and not one of them saw fit to informed the Council that the road needed repair.
Of course the old chestnut comes out, ITS NOT MY JOB, I DON"T GET PAID EXTRA,
Ppls, its every council workers job to report accidents, warnings, pot-holes, broken pipes, fallen trees, etc etc

Dont forget Taree ratepayers that not so long ago our council asked for and was granted a special extra rate increase so that all the local roads could be brought up to a safe condition.
The next time you are speaking to your councillors ask them where the extra money was spent.
