Road closures resulting in no school bus

After the March floods part of our road broke away along a riverbank. As a result the council has closed our road South Arm Rd 9 kms down our 15 km country road. This means we have no school bus and are forced to travel 10kms to the nearest bus stop for our children to get to school. And our kids cannot get from the bus stop back home unless we are there to pick them up (very hard for working parents).

We've had no correspondence from the council on when this might be fixed. Our children cannot get home plus we are forced to drive an extra 20kms each way to get to the highway and our places of work.

Why can't the council let us residents know when the road will be fixed?
