Motorcyclists parking in car spaces at Gosford railway parking station
Gosford City Council has a large commuter car parking facility at Gosford railway station. Several motorcyclists are parking their motorbikes in car spaces instead of using the allocated motor bike spaces.
This takes up valuable positions that cars could use. Some car owners then take a chance and park illegally beside fire hydrants and are fined for doing so by council's rangers. Those car owners would have liked to use the spaces taken up by selfish motor bike riders. Council's rangers are unable to fine motor bike riders who park in car spaces.
The solution is to give parkers the authority to fine motor bike owners who park in car spaces.

How ridiculous are yoe motorcycle riders have everyright to park in a car space, we pay for the use of the road as well.
If there are designated parking spots for motorbike riders then I think it is fair to ask them to park there. Although as the above comment stated they have every right to park in a car space.
The ideal solution would be to increase the amount of motorbike parking spots in the area if there is an obvious demand.
In Sydney Clover Moore has started a process of converting some car spaces from paid parking, to free motor bike parking. At first some car drivers were pissed off about it but the idea is when the converted spaces are free two spots can hold close to 18 motorbikes that means sixteen car spaces for cars. What is annoying I dont believe several motor bikes can all park in the same pay to park tickeded car parking spot but I don't know? Can a compliance office tell us?
It would de nice if Gosford Compliance officers had actually posted an answer to the question several months ago. Clover Moore has solved the conundrum years ago by stacking motorcycles into free parking parking spaces which leaves more places for tin tops. All day free in Sydney is certainly an enticement to bring the bike and not the car.
